The November Stated Meeting was held at Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge No. 705. The meeting opened promptly at 7:30pm with prayer and pledges. President David Bindel welcomed everyone and introduced the MWSA officers. Brother Secretary Robert Weston then introduced dignitaries. There were 5 Past Presidents who were able to grace us with their presence Ronnie Wise, Chris Livingston, Kyle Wahlquist, Jeff Haven, & Seth Alston.
President Bindel took charge of the meeting and conducted our usual business. Brother Secretary made a motion to accept October’s minutes as posted. Motion passed. The treasurer’s report was given, and a motion was made to accept it and pay all upcoming bills, Motion passed. With no new or old business to tend to President Bindel turned over the floor to Right Worshipful Paul Underwood
Right Worshipful Paul Underwood, presented 2 plaques to W.M. Terry Popham for the work Oak Cliff Lodge No. 705 did for the Masonic home and school and the Oak Cliff Tree that started in 1921. There were 9 former students of the Masonic Home and School in Attendance. Right Worshipful Underwood gave a brief presentation giving an overview of the joy the Masons brought the children of the Masonic Home & School at Christmas time. After the presentation the former students introduced themselves and gave thanks for the joy and love they felt at the Masonic Home & School. Oak Cliff Lodge No. 705 then Presented Right Worshipful Underwood with a handmade quilt that they had planned to present him on his visit to Oak Cliff Lodge in 2020, but was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The floor was then turned over to Past President Chris Livingston who gave an overview of the resolutions the brethren will be voting on at our next Annual Grand Communication in January.
We had members from 19 different lodges, from multiple districts. The brethren were informed that the Traveling Gavel is currently held by Richardson Lodge No. 1214. Brother President invited the current members and new Master Mason’s join the MWSA google group and post events there.
